MEET CHRIS

Chris B. Wiggins for Congress

Let Us Help You
Make History

Time for a Change

Chris was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and raised in a working-class military household in Northern San Diego, California. While quaint and community-driven, Chris spent his adolescence navigating a neighborhood riddled with gang violence; all too common in military cities. Despite such odds, driven, disciplined, and hardworking, Chris learned as a young man the value of family, hard work, and community.

While navigating harsh conditions as an adolescent, it was Chris’s mother and grandmother, both strong, intelligent independent business owners, who instilled in him the belief that he could overcome the odds and achieve his dreams.

Chris attended the University of North Texas, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Political Science while interning with U.S. Representative Kenny Marchant and serving on his University’s Student Senate. Chris went on to earn a Master’s degree from Georgetown University while working full-time in the human resources field.

For over 15 years, Chris has worked in local civic engagement, including a term with a Los Angeles Neighborhood Council, supporting the Education Committee, board membership on the West LA Democrat Club, and six years as Chair of California’s chapter of the Democratic Freedom Caucus.

Chris is a proud homeowner in Inglewood, which has brought him closer to the organizations with which he has spent nearly a decade volunteering; among others: A Place Called Home and Hawkins High DAGS.

Thanks to the exceptional example of his mother and grandmother, a love of community, self-determination, and focus, Chris can stand today as a self-made homeowner, business owner, community organizer, and philanthropist. To serve his community on an even greater stage is in Chris’s DNA. He is a born leader and a team player, and not only would it be an honor, it would be a blessing—one more way he can fulfill his duty.
